What Client Says

"Our single-board computers are built with a clear philosophy: security by design, not by afterthought. Building on top of OpenWRT Linux and integrating Arm Secure Boot and Tropic Square's TROPIC01 secure element, we deliver systems where security is the foundation. What we truly appreciate about TROPIC01 is the great documentation and transparency. Because if I can't verify it, I can't trust it. And if I can't trust it, how can my clients?"

About

ContentWise EdgeAI 2 and EdgeAI 3 are Linux single-board computers that integrate TROPIC01 as the default secure element. These passively-cooled platforms deliver AI inference with cryptographic device integrity, deployed in production access control systems, edge AI cameras, and smart home gateways.Edge AI devices make critical decisions without human oversight in places anyone can physically reach. Access control cameras grant entry. Industrial sensors trigger alarms. A compromised device here is a liability.

Chain of Trust from Boot to Runtime

ARM Secure Boot validates the cryptographically signed bootloader. The bootloader establishes a secure session with TROPIC01 using the Noise protocol and validates kernel signatures using keys stored in the chip.A custom kernel module maintains continuous communication with TROPIC01 during runtime. It verifies application signatures and system checksums. When integrity checks fail, the kernel module terminates processes or shuts down the system.
Core Features

What TROPIC01 Provides

1

Device Identity That Cannot Be Cloned

Each TROPIC01 derives identity from its PUF. Remote systems verify device authenticity before establishing trusted sessions. Multiple EdgeAI boards can mutually attest to each other, detecting OS or application tampering across distributed deployments.

2

Cryptographically Signed AI Outputs

Edge AI devices produce results that trigger real-world actions: access granted, alarm triggered, anomaly detected. TROPIC01 signs inference results, binding them to verified device identity and firmware state. This provides cryptographic evidence that a specific, authenticated device produced a specific result.

3

Physical Attack Protection

Hardware sensors detect voltage glitching, laser probing, and EM interference. When an attack is detected, the chip locks down and protects secrets. This prevents a stolen device from becoming a key extraction tool.

4

Secure Firmware Updates

OTA updates must be cryptographically signed. Monotonic counters prevent firmware rollback. Combined with secure boot, this creates an unbroken chain of trust from manufacturing through the device's operational lifetime.

5

Deployed In Production

ContentWise wiseACS (physical access control), edge AI cameras, and smart home gateways use TROPIC01 as standard hardware root of trust.
